Hoiana gets new marketing boss as Vietnam opens up to tourists

Hoiana, a casino resort in Vietnam, said it had appointed a new chief marketing officer.

“We arrived at the right time, as we are reopening to foreign tourists, and we are preparing to welcome them,” Ng was quoted as saying in a news release on the appointment.

Quang Nam, where Hoiana is located, aims to attract “1.7 million” foreign tourists in 2022, local media VN Express recently reported, citing the provincial tourism authority.

Since Feb. 15, Vietnam has lifted restrictions on inbound international flights, meaning airlines can resume all pre-pandemic air routes if they wish. The move coincided with the easing of rules for inbound foreign travelers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

One of Hoiana’s backers was Hong Kong-listed casino investor Suncity Group Holdings Ltd. The former chairman of Hoiana, who resigned in December, was detained Macau junket boss Alvin Chau Check Wa.
