Jeon Sae-yan had a team-high 20 points, Kim Sae-in had 15, and Lee Yerim and Bae Yoo-na each had nine.
Roadworks was in a good mood when they defeated Pepper Savings Bank in the first match, but it was a big disappointment to lose middle blocker Choi Ga-eun to injury.
After the game, coach Kim Jong-min said, “It was a short time, but the players worked hard in preparation. In the first game, Choi Ga-eun was injured and our organization collapsed,” he said.
He continued, “I could see that Yerim was lacking a lot, and some players gained a lot of experience and grew. I’m grateful to all the players for their hard work.”
The 2023-24 season is still about two and a half months away from kicking off, but 안전놀이터 head coach Kim Jong-min is already in season mode. Notably, Thai apo jit spiker Thanacha Suksot only joined the team after the Hangzhou Asian Games and just before the start of the season, leaving little time for chemistry.
“We haven’t seen the Asian quarterfinalists,” said Kim Jong-min. They don’t come in until after the Asian Games. We don’t have much time to prepare for the season together. I think we need to make some changes as a team, but I have a lot of concerns.”
