KIM GUN-WOONG SCORES JEJU’S WINNING GOAL TO END 4-GAME LOSING STREAK, K LEAGUE 1 ROUND 34 MVP

Kim Gun-woong, who scored the winning goal to end Jeju United’s four-game losing streak in professional soccer’s K League 1, was named the star of the 34th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023.The Korea Professional Football Association announced the MVP on April 24, saying, “Kim Gun-woong scored the first goal of the game against Suwon Samsung at Jeju World Cup Stadium on April 22 to lead Jeju to a 2-0 victory.”

The win snapped Jeju out of a winless streak of seven games (one draw and six losses), including four straight defeats, and gave acting coach Chung Joguk his first win since taking over.The best 11 forwards in the 34th round were Lee Kun-hee (Gwangju) and Ji Dong-won (Seoul), while Ahn Hyun-beom (Jeonbuk), Baek Seung-ho (Jeonbuk), Kim Gun-woong, and Han Kyowon (Jeonbuk) were selected as midfielders. Lee Si-young (Seoul), Kim Seung-woo (Gwangju), Lim Chae-min (Jeju), and Lee Ki-hyuk (Jeju) were named as defenders, while Lee Jun (Gwangju) was named goalkeeper.

The best team of Round 34 was FC Seoul after their 2-1 win over Gangwon FC, while the best match was Daegu FC – Jeonbuk Hyundai (2-1).Meanwhile, the MVP of the 스포츠토토존 36th round of the K League 2 was Choi Byung-chan of Gimcheon Sangmu, who scored a hat trick against Ansan Greeners on the 22nd.
