Woodbine Ent to host women-only race

Once again, Woodbine Entertainment is celebrating International Women’s Day in a special way because it hosted a race featuring all female drivers. The special event took place on the evening of Monday, March 7, 2022, when Maha My Kiss with driver Natasha Day topped an exciting race of nine older racing mares.

In addition to the female driver, Woodbine Entertainment also provided a female crew for simulcast and race call coverage. The race was the third night, and there was a CA$18,000 prize only if prominent host/race analyst Don Ruful returned as the track announcer for the full card on Monday.

Elm Grove’s government and Anita Ooulette started at post 8 and recorded an opening fraction of :28.2, while miss day in the era of maha my kiss came in second. Unsatisfied with their initial pocket position, she and trainee Rob Fellow ran on the ground recording a half mile of :58.4, a close challenge from the Elm Grove government.

As Miss Day settled in first place, she and the mare found rhythm, which led to a challenge for Richard Moro-trained Blink And Gone, only one step ahead of the lead in the third quarter, clocking 1:28.1. However, despite the late challenge, Mach My Kiss managed to escape the lead and won in 1:58.

Blinkers and Ghosn remained in second place, and Stargazing Cruiser, with Marie Claude Auger on board, took a late shift to finish third. Fernand Hill Bella and Kayla Chappell finished fourth, while Elm Grove Mist finished fifth in a special race. In addition, Monique Bagg and Kelly Spencer hosted Woodbine Live to welcome several special guests.

The company’s International Women’s Day coverage also featured a video feature on miss day and a pre – race feature on driver mariel enberg. A video about the driver can be found on the track’s official Twitter page, and an article about Miss Enberg is on the official website. Live racing at Milton Oval resumes Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

In January this year, Ontario, the Ontario horse racing leader, also announced the 2022 Standardbread Live Racing season at Woodbine Mohawk Park. This season promises plenty of excitement with more than $21 million equity events, such as the $6.7 million Breeders’ Crown, as well as the return of 39 consecutive Pepsi North American Cups.

In addition, the company will host Mohawk Million on Saturday, September 24, 2022, and as the name suggests, it includes a $1 million prize. The company also announced on August 27, 2022 that all nine slots are currently on sale for the two-year-old trot event, where the final slot was reserved for the winner of William Wellwood Memorial.
