Actor Hwang Jung-eum files for divorce from her husband for second time

Actor Hwang Jung-eum filed a divorce lawsuit against her golfer-turned-businessman husband, Lee Young-don, seeking to end her 8-year marriage.Hwang’s agency, Y1 Entertainment, confirmed the news on Thursday, adding the reason for the divorce will not be disclosed due to privacy concerns.”Please refrain from spreading rumors and writing provocative news articles defaming Hwang, Lee and their children,” the agency added.One day before the announcement, the 39-year-old shared a series of photos featuring her husband on Instagram, making enigmatic comments which raised speculation that Lee is responsible for the couple’s break up.

“My husband’s life had been really busy and entertaining since we married,” one of her posts said. “He must have been very busy, so I hope he takes it easy and enjoys [his life] from now on.”Hwang tied the knot with Lee in 2016 and welcomed their first son a year later. In September 2020, Hwang filed for divorce for the first time, but the couple eventually reconciled and called off their divorce. They gave birth to their second son in 2022.Hwang debuted as a member of the K-pop girl group Sugar in 2002 before quitting the act in 2004 to launch a solo career. After being catapulted to fame as an actor in the sitcom, “High Kick Through the Roof” (2009–10), she starred in many popular 스포츠토토존 dramas such as, “Listen to My Heart” (2011) and “Kill Me, Heal Me” (2015).
