Vietnam’s Hoiana resort, which has a foreigner-only casino, opened a fresh hotel facility called the New World Hoiana Hotel on Friday (July 1), according to social media posts at the complex.
According to corporate data on the Hoiana website, the additional accommodation offers 476 rooms (example of photos). New World Hotels and Resorts is one of the hospitality brands managed by Rosewood Hotel Group, a privately owned company based in Hong Kong.
GGRAsia approached Hoiana, located in Hoi An on Vietnam’s central coast, seeking more information about the launch of the New World Hoiana hotel, but did not hear back until this story went online.
According to Hoiana’s official website, the initial hotel, Hoiana Hotel & Suites, features more than 140 suites.
According to Hoiana’s official website, two other hotels linked to the hospitality brand managed by Rosewood Hotels Group, KHOS Hoiana and Rosewood Hoiana, are yet to open. The intention to phase out hotel accommodation has been mentioned previously.
Vietnam has lifted its mandatory quarantine for international arrivals since mid-March. From May 15, international arrivals will no longer be allowed to enter the country without being tested for COVID-19.
Hoiana recorded a “cumulative loss” of 5.67 trillion dong ($242.7 million at the current exchange rate) as of January this year, the Vietnam Investment Review reported, citing a document written by Quang Nam, the real estate location, in late April.
