NYRA To Build New Saratoga Race Course Backstretch Clinic

Most recently, the New York Racing Authority announced plans to build a backstretch clinic on the historic Saratoga Racecourse. 파친코 The organization said it will hold a special groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the construction clinic on July 13, 2022, just before the start of summer 2022 meets at the track.

One of the main sources of funding for the new clinic is philanthropist John Hendrickson, who is financing the construction of the clinic to pay tribute to his late wife, Marylou Whitney. Mr Hendrickson has pledged to donate more than $1.2 million to establish a permanent clinic, about $400,000 of which was raised at an auction in 2020 in honor of Mr Whitney.

According to the NYRA, the new hospital will replace double-wide trailers currently used on tracks for healthcare. We will also gain significantly improved experience for those who need primary or emergency medical care while on the track, which will be provided by doctors and medical professionals in collaboration with Saratoga Hospital.

For now, concrete foundations have been laid for the new clinic, which has a large waiting area, four laboratories, a lab and office for blood tests, and will organize a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, NYRA said. Work on the project will continue in September and will open in spring 2023.

The development of new healthcare facilities further advances Mr. Whitney and Mr. Hendrickson’s long-term commitment to the backstretch community. Since Ms. Whitney’s death in 2019, her husband has continued to provide support to numerous initiatives to help the community, including Backstretch Appreciation Dinner, E.S.L. Classes, and Bingo Nights.

Paul Ruchames, executive director of the Backstretch Employee Services Team, said the clinic’s development reinforces the 30-plus-year goal of meeting the health and social care needs of Backstretch employees on NYRA’s track. He believes the project will be an opportunity for B.E.S.T. to expand nationwide as well as ensure continuity of its services.

As already mentioned, the 2022 Summer Games at Saratoga Racecourse will begin shortly on July 14, 2022 and run for 40 days. This year will be the 153rd edition, highlighted by Grade I Run Happy Travers of $1.25 million and Grade I Whitney of $1 million. The “Saratoga Live” TV show will also return for a seventh time to provide daily coverage of the race.
